yes! format b are finally back with their second release on stil vor talent. after massive tracks on opposum and highgrade rec, their newest ep on stil vor talent is another huge minimal monster. kongo time is typical for the two berliners: a flickery percussive loop with some stretched out effect envelopes over a wobbly drum n bass style bassline place this track between freaky rave and minimal chic. its definitely going to make you trip out for sure! on the flip its the funky mondo time that builds up over some cuts and bleeps until it leads the listener into pure euphoria when the simple loop kicks in. a huge organic subbass and some chopped-up vocal sample add the funk to this delirious minimal hit and when it comes to minute 4:00 you really won t be able to hold your feet still. format b are at the top of their game and we are so happy to have them!

peter has already graced numerous labels with his unique yet constantly evolving studio style. after numerous afterhour situations with the doc family, we caught wind of grummichs new productions. we believe that the therapy ep continues the development of peters uncompromising underground productions. the title track, therapy, is a nine-minute journey into dancefloor dynamics. slowly building with concentrated breaks, therapy works it out and then some. label boss, aaron hedges, has been giving it heavy dj support and has found that its been quite some time since well placed hat crashes can drive an audience crazy. minimal, sexy and sleek, but at 7 minutes the listener is surprised with a full on new-rave lead which takes the song in a different direction. get it is a nice tech-house track with building percussive patterns and highly concentrated synth breakdowns. this track is only for the most sophisticated house djs that know when to drop a track like this. drymilk is a seriously twisted hard minimal track. nasty sound effects and perplexing pitch shifts will keep you guessing. is it genius or insanity? you be the judge!

promise land is a solid deep soulful groove created by koyla. the demo floated around the bombay itunes player for a few of weeks, we needed someone to tear this track up. we tried a couple of options it wasnt working this groove needed something killer. thats were good friend jrod indigo come into play, san fran neo soul singer decides to come into lovely vancouver to hang for a while at bombay studio hq, and thats were the story starts for this track. jrod writes and lays down his song and creates the promise land over koylas ripping hooks and players. everyone is diggin the direction, timmy comes in and throws in some backups, inhouse producers sean dimitrie and nav take all the parts and put together a b side. the awaaz mix takes the track into a late night bumping funky direction with ambient tripped out textures and hard detroit style chords. overall this is a classic style ep with a real organic disco avour, that will never die for us. koyla and jrod are true musicians and deserve the fullest respect in this genre.

new signing on players paradise from hamburg city, two producers who are up and coming in the scene and ready to take over with this mental banger. first one is tensnake who runs his own label mirau musik out of his hometown and got a lot of attention recently by remixing >junior boys<. his partner is suite 9 aka d.i.m. who made some great records on tigas turbo label and had a big hit with >airbus baby< and his cool remix for chromeos last single >fancy footwork<. on the remix job this time our favourite man out of cologne, steve barnes aka cosmic sandwich. he transforms the original into a spaced out 90s house track with his typical driving groove that he developed over the last years in his great releases on traum and my best friend.

merry, amusing nonsense - some of the attributes used to describe the last kritik records. these terms are unlikely to be appropriate here: the young sebastian simmert from the outskirts of berlin has submitted his first own production. noticable are the influences of techno producers from recent years and the work of this 22 year old demonstrates he knows the whos who. is this an up and comer? the first track is in the tradition of pumping bodzin/romboy works, the second references 2step, including the bad little ravemonster. finally, a hymne for the early morning hours, for the more contemplative dancefloor - enjoy while sipping bionade. beyond minimalism

its been well over a year since front rooms last offical release (look out for deadsets >keep quite< & lost property for some undercover front room action). here the label bounces back with two prime-time cuts from riva starr (aka madox), here wearing his jackin house hat, he shows why both front room & dirty bird are supporting his releases. picking up on the sound of jesse rose, switch and claude vonstroke, while getting plays by them all at the same time. look out for future releases by riva starr on front room very soon.

this is the first ep on flash recordings that doesnt feature label owners florian meindl and oliver koletzki. but they have made sure to look for a quality replacement. no one else than cologne-based artist daso - renowned for his previous releases on labels like mbf, session deluxe, ghostly and connaisseur - teams up with his buddy pawas to create their first release >night express< on flash. pawas has just had his first record out on adam krolls and markus müllers imprint squonk records and has been a dj for 9 years, moving from india to cologne one year ago. on the a-side daso & pawas foreshadow the summer with the track >tgv<: a beautifully deep melody that swings along a powerful loop. >ice< - the name of germanys high-speed train is clearly more electro-driven. a slightly broken beat with a thumping organic bassline pumps above an ever-changing soundscape that culminates in some euphoric high-pitched synths. never too much, this is a perfect example for elegant understatement. also on the flip side is the track >bummelzug<, which translates as >very slow train< in german. this is a dub-techno masterpiece. deep dubs and arpeggios flow over the simple beats with a great clappy snare drum. dreamy, hypnotic, melodic! flash recordings has just become fit for the summer

after the release of the second single by solee, here comes the next top tune out of the parquet recordings camp. it s dejonka, who already released on labels like klang gymnastik, hammarskjoeld, karate musik and bikini tracks with –memento-. this track is a pure high-energy dancefloor burner. the kicking beat, the funky bassline and the dirty electro sounds create a groove that nobody can resist on the floor. a true sure-shot for the peaktime! ryan davis & lanny may use the strongest elements of the original adding some minimal beats and sounds to create a new underground flavour. yassin & arne create a true minimal-techno masterpiece creating a nice bubbling synthie melody out of the original harmonies. again a great package with remixes for every flavour and occasion!

eurocold, smashing track using a special sequence as similar as a brain hook from liaisons dangereuses. already played by the hacker during his solo live for almost a year, this track is devastating like a hurricane. future classic to have in the records collection. 2. as well, eurocold include a remix done by terence fixmer who bring here some freezing action in the track. >moon patrol<, can be a definition of real techno and what people expect in listen to that word. hypnotizing and warm, this track is just a travel to another planet

get physical are pleased to welcome paul ritch, following the well-received >fortuna ep< (together with anthony collins) with his first solo-tracks. over the past year ritch has earned his stripes with solo releases on resopal schallware, minisketch and paradigma, and as one half of handycraft, whose le bal masque ep on kickboxer was a recent underground hit. ritch saves his best for physical, though, with two minimal house tracks of real energy and sophistication comprising this new 12inch. a master of slowburning intensity, ritchs begins >june< in understated fashion, but build after build, and the onset of busy, chattering percussion, sonar pings and ravey acid lines take things to a wholly different level. ritchs skill is in accumulating layer over layer of effects and then, in a magical instant, stripping things back to raw elements, some of the compressed, filtered breaks on >june< will cause serious dancefloor damage and delight
